July was the month I immersed myself in work – and not the academic kind. Three and a half weeks working nightshifts does something to a person, and left me feeling completely exhausted.  With all proceeds going towards my upcoming trip to Thailand, I worked every hour I could to the detriment of my social life and as a result the Summer has well and truly passed me by.

However it wasn’t all bad. I squeezed in a short trip to Spain and became obsessed with the brilliant and thoroughly addictive Nip/Tuck, and although my photo yield so far this Summer has disappointed, I managed to find a few musical gems which kept me alive during those long shifts.  Thanks in part to the Indie Shuffle playlist, which I could pretty much spend all day listening to.  The Hood Internet‘s amazing Ellie Goulding/Kanye West mashup was definitely my stand out track of the month.
